Driver’s Pickles is a proud family-run business with roots dating back to the mid-19th century. It began in the market town of Ibstock, where the Driver family served the local community through a small grocery shop.

By 1902, the family had started producing pickles to meet growing demand. Just four years later, Frederick Charles Driver officially established the Driver’s Pickle and Vinegar Company. The business initially focused on pickled onions and malt vinegar, quickly gaining popularity with local fishmongers and shops in and around Leicester.

Over the decades, the company continued to grow, expanding both its product range and reach. Now over 115 years old, Driver’s is run by the fourth generation of the family and remains committed to the traditional methods and recipes that shaped its beginnings.

Today, the brand focuses on sustainability, natural ingredients and preserving the authentic flavours of classic British condiments. Its range now includes a variety of pickles, vinegars and pantry essentials, all crafted with heritage and care.

Working closely with Driver’s over many years, Pattesons has developed a strong understanding of their requirements, building a long-standing and trusted partnership. When Driver’s approached us with their next project, the goal was to create a distinctive range of glass containers tailored to their pickled product range.

Drawing on our experience, we explored ways to customise existing designs while maintaining practicality and efficiency. This led to the development of a reimagined classic — the Half Gallon Pickle Jar.

Alongside this, we delivered a bespoke solution for the 380ml and 580ml hexagonal jars. These designs not only meet the functional needs of preserving the products but also reflect the character and heritage of the Driver’s brand.
